Headaches and Migraines
Headache and Migraines can be aching, dull, or throbbing pain concentrated in different parts of the head. Each giving distinctly different type of headaches such as Migraine Headaches, Sub-occipital Headaches and Tension Headache with varying symptoms.

Migraine Headaches

Pain is severe and intense throbbing usually on one side of the head, but it can occur in the whole head

Generally, it would start in the morning and may begin hours before your usual wake up time that would force you out of bed

Nausea and vomiting
-
Sensitive to noise and light
-
Can last up to a couple of days in a row
-
Often associated with tension in the neck, shoulders, and middle back
-
It can be related to the toxicity in the body,
-
Worsen by alcohol, medications, other chemicals, or dehydration
-
Sleeping in can increase toxicity as it reduces the time between toilet visits
-
Any injury that puts more pressure in the middle back can affect the nerves which cause migraines
-
It may gradually worsen over a long period of time in frequency and duration
-
Intensity of your migraines would not change much, as it is often massively intense anyways
-
Middle back and shoulder symptoms may arise over time if left untreated
-
It can interfere with your lifestyle and well-being
Tension Headache

Headaches can start anywhere from 11am – 3pm
-
Generally, it will get worse as the day progresses
-
Can involve the whole neck, but also concentrated in the shoulder muscles
-
Worsened on busy and stressful days
-
Caused by tension in the neck

Poor ergonomics at work or at home

Prevalent during times of deadlines, exams, family stress, and important events
-
Poor vertebral alignment in the lower neck or upper thoracic spine is nearly always the cause of this kind of headache

If you leave this one long enough, it can cause problems with the nerves down the arms
-
You might start getting symptoms of Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, or pins and needles down the arms/fingers
-
It will get more frequent and more intense, and if left long enough, it may become as bad as Migraines
Sub-Occipital Headache

Dull, constant headache that lasts through the day

Starts upon waking up and still there when you go to bed
-
May continue for numerous days
-
Feels like a dull pressure in the front of the head or under the back of your skull

Creates problems with concentration

Seems to be less noticeable when you are active or busy
-
May have light-headedness or dizziness in some cases
-
Can be a result from head trauma

Car accident
-
Hitting your head on hard surfaces/items
-
Kids having falls onto concrete or hard floor)

The position in which you sleep and the height of the pillow
-
Using your shoulder to hold your phone to your ear
-
Poor vertebral alignment in the upper neck region

Gradually becomes more frequent and lasts longer
-
Constant pain all day, and sometimes lasting 4-6 days at a time

Pain on neck rotation

especially when you are driving

changing positions in bed

Strong muscular pulling sensation/pain at the base of the skull
